DAY 1 Auckland to Paihia, Bay Of Islands.
Kia Ora! We head from Auckland to Paihia amongst
the beautiful Bay of Islands. An optional‘Rock
the Boat’ overnight upgrade could see you sailing
through the islands and stargazing from deck.
DAY 2 Paihia, Bay of Islands.
A free day to explore
this pristine area where optional activities are
abound. Adventure-lovers can catamaran along
the inner bay looking for dolphins, kayak through
mangrove forests to the Haruru Falls, or take a ride
along 90 Mile Beach to Cape Reinga. Get to grips
with fascinating Kiwi history at Waitangi Treaty
House to learn about New Zealand’s past. Tonight
enjoy a delicious Kiwi favourite, fish and chips.
DAY 3 Bay of Islands to Rotorua (Marae
Back to Auckland before heading to
Rotorua. Tonight we stay in a traditional Maori Marae
(sacred meeting house), so get ready for a spiritual
evening of historical and cultural stories and learn
the local Haka and Poi dances.
DAY 4 Rotorua.
Explore sulphuric Rotorua your
way, maybe hire a mountain bike, go white water
rafting, visit the thermal spa pools or splash out on
DAY 5 Rotorua to Tongariro National Park.
we explore the boiling mud and steaming waters of
the Wai-O-Tapu region, an active geothermal area
located in the Taupo volcanic zone. Later we visit
Huka Falls, Lake Taupo, and the Taupo Bungy over
the Waikato River (jump optional). We then head to
our alpine retreat in Tongariro NP. Tonight we savour
the flavours of our traditional Kiwi lamb roast dinner
followed by the ultimate Kiwi dessert, pavlova!
DAY 6 Tongariro National Park.
are plenty of optional activities on offer, hike the
beautiful Tongariro Crossing, hire a mountain bike
or even ski (during winter) on your free day in
Tongariro. Later we can relax in the sauna or spa
pool at our accommodation.
DAY 7 Tongariro National Park to Wellington.
Today we ask;“why is Wellington NZ’s coolest city?”
Funky galleries, designer shops, top museums, great
restaurants and stylish bars, that’s why!
DAY 8 Wellington to Nelson.
We trade North Island
for South Island with a ferry through the picturesque
Marlborough Sounds today. First stop, an included
wine tasting in the Marlborough region, before we
stay overnight in Nelson, NZ’s sunniest region.
DAY 9 Nelson (Abel Tasman National Park).
you can visit the nearby beauty of Abel Tasman NP
to hike the trails or take an optional ocean kayak
trip. Other choices include horse-riding, quad
biking or even skydiving! Later we savour a local
DAY 10 Nelson to Christchurch via Kaikoura.
We pass through the Rai Valley, stopping in Blenheim,
then to Ohau Point to spot fur seals. Later in coastal
Kaikoura you can try optional whale watching or
dolphin/seal swimming (summer only). Tonight we
stay in Christchurch, a city heroically rebuilding itself
following the earthquakes of 2011.
DAY 11 Christchurch to Fox Glacier.
Christchurch, we set off to enjoy some of New
Zealand’s most jaw-dropping scenery today as we
pass over the majestic Southern Alps. Stopping in
Hokitika we visit a jade factory to see the carvers
skilfully creating works of art from the iconic

DAYS 13-14 Queenstown.
Are you ready for
Queenstown? Deep breath... three bungy jumps, a
canyon swing, Shotover Jet, sky-diving, horse-riding,
boat safari, mountain biking, a skyline gondola, a
hike to Ben Lomond for 360 degree views or one
of the many fantastic walks Queenstown has to
offer! Phew! If that sounds too much you can always
kick back by the lake or indulge in some legendary
nightlife later on!
DAY 15 Queenstown to Fiordland (Milford Sound
Today we’re off to the awe-inspiring
Fiordland region via Mirror Lakes and Hollyford
Valley. This afternoon we enjoy a nature cruise on
the stunning Milford Sound– keep an eye out for the
seals, dolphins and even penguins. Tonight we stay in
the lakeside village of Te Anau.
DAY 16 Fiordland to Lake Ohau.
We make our way
along Lake Wakatipu bound for quaint Arrowtown
where we leave the coach behind for just a little
while and use pedal power!
We cycle along the willow-lined Arrow River,
crossing various bridges along the way before
ending up at the famous Kawarau Bridge, home of
the world’s first commercial Bungy operation. It’s
then back on the coach for more dramatic scenery
as we head to our home for the night, a classic Kiwi
lakeside lodge on the shores of Lake Ohau.
DAY 17 Lake Ohau to Christchurch (via Mt Cook
To Mt Cook village and Lake Pukaki
for some photos, a lunch stop at Lake Tekapo’s
blue waters and then it's time for our Kiwi Farm
Experience in Fairlie– where we learn about life
on a sheep farm! We then return to the beautiful
Christchurch where our Topdeck Kiwi adventure
sadly comes to an end.
